The Way of the Heart

Who looks out with my eyes? What is the soul?
I cannot stop asking.
If I could taste one sip of an answer,
I could break out of this prison for drunks.
I didn't come here of my own accord, and I can't leave that way.
Whoever brought me here, will have to take me home.
~ Mevlana Jalal ad-din Rumi

In this third gathering of the class, which falls on the date of Rumi’s Urs (his “union with the Beloved” or his passing), we will focus our attention on the life and poetry of Mevlana Jalal ad-din Rumi, and the Sufi lineage associated with him - the Mevlevi Order with its famous whirling dervishes.

A beautiful aspect of this Way of the heart is that it recognizes one source of guidance, from which all spiritual messengers have come to humanity. Thus, it may harmonize with other traditions and practices, and can often lead to a deeper experience and greater benefit from those.

Malika has been living in this Way for thirty years, and has a deep gratitude and appreciation for this pathless path and wishes to share this gift with interested souls.

There is no fee for this class. Small donations accepted to pay for the cost of using this classroom.

This class is free to the public. Click here to register in advance.
